I sympathise with you - I have not had much sleep over the last few days for the same reason. Unfortunately, sometimes, I do send him to the spare room so we both get some sleep!!. Does he smoke or drink - that can make matters worse. My other half recently lost some weight - just afew pounds but the snoring stopped - he put the weight back on and he is snoring again. Boots sell some good earplugs - they are wax cylinders - you warm the in your hands so they go soft and pop them in your ears - that could help too! It can be a problem - I end up feeling really annoyed over it - they seem to have a good nights sleep while you don't. I sometimes find that I can't get off to sleep because I am scared he will wake me up again - it's awful.

Well other that a pillow in his face.... No just kidding but perhaps the though has crossed you mind. ;o) Seriously, many have a sinus blockage that the can do surgery for, and even too large of tonsils can cause snoring. Both that can be fixed with surgery. If that route is to costly you can try breath right nasal strips helps sinus snorer's best, or for those that snore from the throat they have a medicated spray that numbs the throat to stop snoring.

Earplugs for you and a doctors appointment for him.

If his snoring is life long, he may have a deviated septum. If it's new it could be due to weight gain, or perhaps indicates a developing heart condition. Also, snoring is sometimes a sign the person is suffering sleep apnea, a very serious sleep breathing disorder that can cause a host of problems if not treated.

Whatever, get him to see a doc and see if there's anything that can be done.

I used to snore really loudly until I was diagnosed with sleep apnoea. With this condition the walls of your wind pipe collapse, causing you to snore and, eventually, when the windpipe closes completely it stops you from breathing. You then wake up momentarily and take a deep breath, which opens your windpipe, and then you go straight back to sleep and the whole process starts all over again. Apparently, you can wake several hundreds of times every night and not ever be aware of it. Because you are never able to get into a really deep sleep, you wake up tired in the morning and you tend to fall asleep in the day time.
The treatment for sleep apnoea is very simple, When I go to bed, I wear a face mask which is attached by a long flexible air tube to an electric pump. This pump is referred to as a CPAP, which stands for Constant Positive Air Pressure. The air pressure, which is supplied by the pump, keeps my windpipe inflated whilst I sleep and stops me from snoring and waking throughout the night.
Thank God for the inventor of the CPAP

Same problem from my husband some years back. Excess weight was causing the problem. Didn't get much sleep for many months, made him sleep in the spare room but still could hear him. It was either drastic weight loss or divorce. He chose the diet - and it worked - no snoring. Sadly the weight has gone back on two years down the line - but the snoring not as bad - at least I can sleep - although he's still in spare room!

Hello,
You could rig him up with a microphone and record his snoring on a tape, then when the tape is full, play it into his face, so it wakes him up, then sing to him, How Does It Feel !! I don't envy you, but there are some remedies in the pharmacy at some cost, but what price a good nites sleep? Yawwn! Ohh Dear, nite nite zzzzzzZZZZZZZzzzzzzz Tony M

I can't vouch for Snorease, sorry. Not heard of it.

Snoring can be caused by a medical problem and it is worth getting these checked out. It may also be caused by excess weight around the neck.

If it is a recent development it is definitely worth talking to a GP. Getting him to go is the real challenge!
Good luck!

If it's really bad, get him to see an ear, nose, throat specialist. They can pinpoint the cause and recommend treatment. In the meantime, the breathe right strips that go over the nose do help a bit. Good luck!

yes it does work if used regularly, there is an op if its really bad, and of course he could stop breathing, ask him to go to the gp, my ex was wired up to a machine to see if he ever stopped breathing, my new husband doesnt believe he snores, but boy he s like a traction engine! and wont use the spray regularly, resulting in very tired me!
