Actually... this isn't a stupid question... Angelina was born with the name Angelina Jolie Voight... after a fall out with her father, Jon Voight, she filed to drop her surname (Voight)... hence her name is now Angelina Jolie... Jolie being her last name... Shiloh's last name being Jolie-Pitt. Weird I know but true...

She dropped her given sir name "Vioght" after her fued with her father, Jon Vioght. She adopted her middle name "Jolie" as her new official last name.
SInce Brad adopted her children and knocked her up for the 3rd baby, they naturally have their parents names...hence, "Jolie-Pitt".
