I believe Christopher Columbus initiated the use and eventually enslavement of the natives of the island of Hispaniola for sugar cane plantations. This basically descimated any form of native culture. The practice of immperialism spread across the Americas from there.

I don't know about YOU, but I (ME) did not kill anyone. I was born in 1979, when I became an adult, I got a job and earned my money and bought my house.
(Although I cannot say for sure) I am pretty sure that since that time there have been no white settlers to take over the land of any Native Americans.

I surmise it's been a little over a 100 years ago. Try reading "I left my Heart at Wounded Knee" and the gut-wrenching tales of the Trail of Tears left by the Cherokee.
Try reading about the treacherous deceit of the U.S. Cavalry at the Sand Hills Massacre of 1866.
Killings happened on both sides. The whites just happened to have more manpower and technology at their beck and call.

Actually the settlers tried to buy the land off of the indians. Check out the term Indian Giver @ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_giver for more information....
Basically alot of indians/Settlers died over a miss understanding,,, A shame yes.......
It started as soon as we came over.... Or shortly after because of the land rights and etc.....
