I hate sit-ups everyday in my gym class i have to do sit-ups.....
and push-ups......boring....do we have to????

Apparently they are necessary for your gym class... so yea

From an athletic perspective they are necessary. They help build your center core for exercise and working out. A strong stomach and back will help pretty much any athletic activity.

It also help from an aesthcetic perspective. Most of us who are over weight do not enjoy being that way, the stomach hanging over the belt or the pouch on the front for the ladies. Situps and push-ups can help to eliminate or reduce that.

yeah, it is. But i understand where your coming from. I used to hate doing sit-ups and push-ups. I mean i HATED them.

But they are important. Pretty much anything you do requires your abdominals. Even sitting in a chair does!

It doesn't matter if you like running, jumping, lacrosse, baseball/sofball, anything. Your body is like a machine, every muscle group is connected.

If you have strong abs, you can (statistically) run faster and longer. By having a strong back, you are able to have good posture, which is important for running (long distance primarily). And really, if you have a strong core, you have a strong body.

Sorry, but we all gotta deal with it. But after a while you get used to it.

They are neccessary as you get older!! It is a base of all the movements that you do!!! It is very important especially if you are an athlete?? I know it is boring but, it is better than doing nothing at all?

Its part of your criteria, if you want to get a good grade than yes they are necessary. Once you are done with school you will never have to do them again, you might get a big belly, but you wont have to do them anymore

yes you do. It will give your body the necessary form that will help protect you if you play sports or do physical labour work.
