I tried DIF but it does not work that well. I don't want to hire anyone for the job. Is their any home remedy or product that will remove it?

You can mix vinegar w/ water about half n half, warm it...... spray or roll on to wall with paint roller........ get a trowel and scrape it off. The warm vinegar/water solution should melt the glue, but so should have the DIF. There is no easy, magical solution....... just a lot of hard work and elbow grease.

Why worry about adhesive lines, When you remove walpaper, you need to get a 5 gallon pail of Gypsm joint compound (costs $10 at Lowers) and "skim coat" the entire walls, with that material using a 12 inch wide drywall trowel. Then you sand it with a handle type drywall sander and sanding pad. This material acts like a filler and preps the wall for primer. The sander has about a 40 inch long handle and a flexible joint where the rubber pad is attached to.

You cannot Primer paint paper stripped walls without skim coating them first, they will look rough and totally unacceptable. That little adhesive on there will simply sand off while you give the whole wall a good sanding after skim coating with gypsum

Put a bright light to the wall to see defects, fill with gypsum and sand again untill wall is in good shape.

DIF has a red liquid in a ready to use spray bottle It's the best I have ever tried. Having done it professionally for years, I think it beats steam too. Be liberal with it, and apply it to only as much area as you can scrape at a time because the adhesive and paper backing comes off easiest while it's still wet from the chemical.. Use a flexible steel putty knife in the 2" width range.

Use DIF again, let it sit longer, then use a nylon scrubbie or such. The scrub, rinse, rinse and rinse again until the wall no longer feels like there's oatmeal residue on the wall. It may not be wallpaper glue, then you'll have to sand it off...ugh.

Krud Kutter, I think I purchased mine at Lowes, maybe Home Depot. Use it straight or cut with water. I use it for every thing, haven`t had a failure yet.

two things come to mind -
1. warm/soapy water sprayed on and gently using a putty knife to scrape away;
2. clothing steamer (like the one you'd use to get the wringles out of your clothes), and scrape.

Either way, I don't envy you.
I HATE wallpaper work!@#%

Get that TSP stuff, it works great. I forget if you use it straight or dilute it with water, but it works awesome.
