I googled the name Mayon Volcano and it told me that it was a stratocone, also known as a composite cone.

Composite cones are composed of a wide range of magma compositions, even at a single location. They are generally silicic, with andesite as the most common magma type. They have complex eruptive histories with repeated eruptions of both flows and pyroclastics, the layering of which gives the volcanic form its name.

The Mayon volcano, according to the website listed in the source, says that the Mayon erupts basalt to olivine bearing pyroxene andesite. This sounds to me like it is more basic than the felsic lavas of other stratocones.

Hope that helps.
