I think they're symbols for a 3x3 game. One person uses x's and the other person uses o's. I love that game. On the other hand, chicks use them to hug me and kiss me with text messages. Kind of silly!

x for kisses...you can see the shape of the lip curling in when you kiss.
o for hugs...you can see half the o represents the arms wrapping around to give hugs.
