It is about £0.85 per litre - so double that it's USD$1.70 per litre.

It has been as high as £1 so $2 per litre quite recently.

That is over 80% tax - duty of 47p per litre (that might have gone up) maybe 48p duty, but get this, we pay VAT of 17.5% on all of this - so they actually tax a tax - clever or what?
