We talk about fruit and vegetables as being fresh but socially it means 'new' to the ways of the world; the more derogatory derivation is 'freshie' or FOB (Fresh off the boat). To avoid ambivalence it's best to use some other word to articulate about someone.

Years ago, the word 'Propaganda' meant 'information.' During World War 2, it took on another meaning, 'False Information' - or, in other words, 'information to be consumed with a pinch of salt and an open mind.'

'Fresh' used to mean (in terms of 'behaviour'), 'lippy' - someone who chose to speak to another in any way they cared to (without any respect); 'cheeky ~ talking,' or who might try and 'touch someone - without permission' ~ sexually even, or 'inappropriately.'

Some words get their meanings changed over time as those who follow us through don't actually know the meanings and put their own interpretations (or 'spin') on them (filling in their own grey areas).

Some seemingly manage to make it through life never discovering a Dictionary, or it's just too heavy a tomb to pick up, or they can't be bothered to read ~ 'Wot! All them wurds!'

If someone is getting fresh with you it means that they are touching you in an inapropriate way or making sexual comments or inuendo. That is the are pinching your butt , slapping your butt, rubbing up against you etc or making overtly sexual comments towards you like 'I bet you're hot between the sheets' etc. It's normally unsolicitated behaviour.
