to grow distant when people (even the ones you know) seem to get too close to you / invade your space?

Yes.
I'm not ready to let anyone get too close to me.
It's so weird because I love these people. They love me. But it's so hard to let them in and actually let them stay there.
I end up feeling like I can't breathe, like I need space and can't think or feel with them there.
I hate it because I push everyone away in the end...
It's really just a matter of time.

Yes in a odd way at 1st then as I get use to them I am close to them and very loyal. I'm not a one of those people who make friends and tell them my life story when I meet them. I have to get to know a person before I can open up and be me. Most people see me as stuck up. I'm just shy and once people get to know me they see I'm just a nut.

YES YES YES YES, everyone except family and girlfriend.
Its never a problem for me. If a work mate asks me anything personal i tell to get ******, even what i did last night. I love it!
