I would think realistic fiction would be something that could really happen but is made up or written fiction about something that did happen but the story is changed somewhat.I would say kind of like the tv shows Law And Order.

A book is considered realistic fiction if events in the story did not really happen but could have. Fantastic elements such as magic, aliens, talking animals, or ridiculous exaggerations move a book out of this category and into other genres. Biographies or true stories, even if written in novelized form, are considered non-fiction.

Realistic fiction is usually divided into historical and contemporary fiction. Contemporary fiction takes place today or in the recent past; historical fiction takes place further in the past.

I define realistic fiction as something that is real in the everday life of human beings yet it isnt true as we think it is. Like myths or something. Anyhow, I would also say that its so real that it almost scares you type of thing, and you could of just googled that I mean its easy to google it as you might get some bad responses in here.

Realistic fiction is a story that isn't true, but appears as if it is. A realistic fiction story can happen, but it didn't.
