No, a hyphen is not correct. A longer dash, known as an "em dash" would be correct, however. Don't confuse the two! To make an "em dash" on the computer, hold down "ctrl" and "alt" together and press the hyphen key. Or, use two hyphens together.

it's better to use dots ie: "Keep eating it... because you probably already ate it today."
