Just wondering how it works, how often you wear it, swap it out, where you wear it, etc. etc. And if anyone has had any negative side effects caused by it or other problems including birth control effectiveness. Thanks!

I was a big fan of the patch...except for one thing. It is hard to feel sexy when you are naked when you are wearing something that looks and feels like a big gross band-aid. You can wear it on your lower abdimon, butt, or arm. Beleive me, it will not come off unless you tear it off (which is not very plesant). You wear one patch a week for three weeks and then take it off for your perios week. You should not wear your patch in the same place over and over. Hope this helps.

I wore it..the "orthoevra" now im on nothing trying have a child. You put it on the upper arm back shoulder abdom or the upper buttock. you put it on sun and take it off the following sunday then the 4th wk you take it off so you may have your period. You dont want to apply any lotion to the area then it doesnt stick well and sometimes you get fuzzy on the edge of the patch if say wore a new sweater. If tanning it will show a tan mark. If you have sensitve skin sometimes you will feel itchy. Some off the side effects that are pending court right now are blood clots. Your best bet is take a visit to your gyn/ob and they can give you brochures and after a visit sometimes they will gove you a sample to try and see how you feel after a month and of you want to continue of try something else. I did enjoy only having to remember once a week. But if dont like the sight of patch on you look into the "depoveras" they are a injection you can get once a month or every 3 months. There is the "nova ring" a ring you insert once a month and remove and insert another the following month and there are the pills like "seasona"l that you get a period only four times a year (sometimes breakthrough bleeding till body adjusts with them all.) wish you the best there is alot out there

I wore the patch for many months. You wear it for three weeks and take one week off. You are supposed to wear it semi-near your uterus, but not directly on it. You can wear it on your hip or near your pelvic bone.
My negative side effects were what you would normally expect w/ birth control. I was really moody and irritable. They are hard to take off and lint from your clothes can stick to the edges (like a band-aid) and it does look kinda gross....(and it's not like you can change it!)
It did help with my periods, though.
Good luck!

I have very fair skin so I am told that is why I had negative complications. It ate my skin and usually fell off after three or four days. But I never got pregnant. It was just a huge pain. I only used for a few months and then had to switch to the pill.

I have used it. You change it once a week. I wore mine near my bikini line. The only problem I found was sometimes a little skin irritation. It was very similar to a bandaid, sometimes getting "fuzz" around the edges if I wore dark panties. Otherwise it was much better than the daily pill. Oh yeah, you have one week off (no patch) that will be your period week.
