ok i know this might be opening a can of worms that i dont want to open but i have to ask. so here it is

do you think REX is just that bad or do you think it was him making rookie mistakes and he will come back next year and blow people away.

He'll get better. He is a first-year starter, for all intents and purposes. He spent two years injured, pretty much, and this is his first full year without injuries.

At any rate, sure the Bears offense sputtered. But what about the D? The Bears D was only good, not great. They didn't play aggressively, they didn't tackle, and they didn't get the job done.

EDIT: And Rex Grossman is not the worst super bowl QB ever. Tony Eason went 0-6, making him the only super bowl starter not to complete a single pass. And Craig Morton? Jim Kelly's third super bowl? Neil O'Donnell?

Grossman may have been one of the 15 worst, but he's not THE worst by a long shot.

I think he can be terrible and terribly good, I think they should keep him and look at the QB coach. Obviously he isn't on top of this. And what about the defense? I am not a Bears fan, but I felt sorry for the kid, everyone is so quick to blame the QB's, but it takes a lot of balls to play the position everyone blames first. Look at Manning, everyone said if he doesn't get a ring he won't be this or that...now he has it and they expect him to have another ( reporters asked him this today) I f the offense sucks it is always the QBs fault. I agree he was mostly bad last night, put you gotta have some talent to go to the NFL and the Superbowl, maybe he needs trained better.

He will get better, but the question is how quickly. The rest of the team is good enough to go for it again for one...maybe two years. Will he improve that quickly? We'll probably have to hope so as I don't see a franchise QB moving teams and picking up a system to win the ring that quickly. Nor, can you count on bringing in someone else with potential (aka Vick) and hope they develop. Grossman has some obvious potential and more obvious flaws. Hopefully they can coach him and he can improve.

Grossman had a bad game but I don't remember any of the Bears players doing to much

Grossman sucks, he sucked in college. Only the Bears would waste a high draft pick on a loser like Grossman.

he is not a bad quarterback. he makes stupid mistakes and throws off his back foot, which the offense coordinator needs to help him work on soon. he is a good quarterback and people really need to lay off him. everyone thinks its always the quarterback who should get all the credit when they win and all the blame when they lose. our defense was the main facotr in us losing the superbowl last night. so stop blaming grossman for everything. if youre a true bears fan youll be behind your quarterback instead of turning your back on him and blaming him for everything.

Horrible QB.... He Sucks
Never saw a guy with more games in one season with a QB rating of under 10. And yesterday was no exception.

Trent Dilfer is worst WINNING Super Bowl QB ever.
Rex is the worst LOSING one.

Bears should trade him or bench him. just not USE him.

Rex is just a mediocre pro QB. He's not terrible overall, but he won't make people forget Brees or even Plummer.

His age and inexperience can be used as a scapegoat....but when his poor performance is consistent, you might start to wonder if he's just not very good. Numbers don't lie.
