this vehicle does not have a speedometer cable..GM has been having "instrument cluster" problems with their newer models..02-05..all models...if you are under 60 k miles ask to talk to the Service manager at the dealership..let him know what you are experiencing and if any "goodwill assistance" can be offered. most GM area reps will let the dealer do a "goodwill" warranty on these. they will have to order a new one and the mileage will be programmed into the new cluster. They may offer you a 50/50 split or gm pays for parts and you pay for labor,or they may cover it all together. depends on your GM loyalty and condition of car...do not demand it be fixed for free..that will put a big stop sign on any help they might give you...if all else fails..call gm customer assistance..1-800-222-1020..
good luck

Should still be covered. It's probably just the speedo cable though, which is easy to fix - one side plugs into the tranny, the other plugs into the back of the speedometer/odometer. Just make sure you clean out the holes it goes into and put a dab of grease on the ends (mainly the trans end). Speedo cables run around $40 or so.

If you're still under warranty, you may want to get it done at the dealership, as your car may have some sort of seal or tab that could indicate if the odometer has been tampered with. Call them and find out.

The "speedo cable " answer always crakes me up. Vehicles haven't used a cable in many years, they are all PCM controlled instrument clusters now., which means its all electronic. If under warranty, I suggest see dealer ( 3/36). If the odometer still works when the speedo isnt, odds are its in the cluster, which will involve seeing a repair shop or dealer. Cluster repars on GM products are sent out to an authorized business that only fixes GM clusters.

you could have a problem with the wheel speed sensor which should be located on the passenger side universal joint it will be held on the tranny with a bracket. and will look like a black square with wires coming out of it. The second thing that it could be is that you could have a problem with your dash. the circuit Bord could be damaged or the gauge could be damaged. Its still a pretty new car so I would take it in under warranty and have the dealer ship check it out.

Easy. Take it to the dealership. The car should still be covered under the warrenty. Unless it's got a jagillion miles on it, which it shouldn't, as it's not very old.

Even if you didn't buy it new the Dealership should take care of this one seeing as the car is only 2 years old.

Good luck.

Most likely it's a frozen spedometer cable. Call around and ask some local garages what they'd charge to lube the spedometer cable.
