No, you can't test a tubal pregnancy with an at-home test. Your sister needs to see a doctor and get an ultrasound (if she thinks it's a pregnancy).

Probably not a pregnancy, though, since she's two months late and hasn't died - tubal pregnancies are very dangerous. It's more likely something else. She SHOULD see a doctor anyway.

I would think that the home test would be able to ditect the pregnancy, but either way she should go for a check up).
The home test ditects HCG (human chorionic gonadotropinin) in the urine. This hormone is released by trophoblastic tissue in the placenta. In rare cases, it may be produced by a choriocarcinoma or some other germ cell tumours, or even other forms of cancer, e.g. lung cancer.

Only an ultrasound can show a tubal pregnancy. Home tests may not show positive because the levels aren't as high as they would be if it was growing normally. She should see a doc ASAP, if it is tubal -aka ectopic- the pain can go from discomfort to extreme in moments, and yes, it can kill you.

I would go to the doctor I think the test was right that she is not pregnant but you would like to know what else is goin on.

If she really thinks she might be pregnant (i.e. has always been perfectly regular), she should see her doctor.
