This question is basically about the quote 'Get off your horse and drink your milk pilgrim' and if John Wayne ever says it.

There is a previous question / post which has an inaccurate outcome of no he has not said this before ... it's a lie.

As far as I can remember John Wayne says this to James Stewart in the man who shot liberty valance ... he drags him off his horse just outside the diner that he is working in.

I will watch this tonight and reply.

I know that line has been attributed to John Wayne, but I think that's an urban legend. Don't quote me, but I believe "Get off your horse and drink your milk" was a Gary Copper movie. Sorry I can't be more specific.

In the movie I saw he did say this to a young boy.. His niece was kidnaped and two brothers were going to look for her. John Wayne wore an eyepatch in this movie. This may be the wrong movie, but he did say it and it was one of the last movies John made.
