Intel currently leads the field with processors, but they are close. At the level of processor you are talking, your video board will make more of a difference than processor. Sincy you didn't specify specific model of processor, check the link below and you should be able to do a direct comparison. Make sure you select a gaming benchmark.

The usb headers are designed for front panel USB connectors that typically come as part of your computer case.

USB: the USB that are directly attached to the mobo are all set and ready to go. you don;t need to plug anything in.

CPU: There is much debater about the better processor. the winner SEEMS to be Intel C2D. as much as i would like to tell you the FX is better, i cant. all the bechmarks and tests and reviews point to the C2D. you could just search on yahoo and find a ton of reviews. i usually search Athlon FX (modle you want) vs core 2 duo. toms hardware had a good review. and i think that the prices for the systems (not just the CPU) are about the same b/c you need different parts for each. (meaning. you can get a system for each for about the same price, eveen thou the CPUs have a big difference in price)

sadly intel seems to have the advantage. hopefully AMD will come back with a bang and blow intel out of the water!!!!!
