Believe it or not "Time" is just about all we have to get rid of them, unless you have alot of money to go and have plastic surgery done, on those areas......otherwise, people will say "Cocoa Butter" and give you all of these other remedies that are actually only good to prevent from getting them! So, just wait it out, believe me, they do fade after years of having them! So there is hope! And take alot of vitamin E... or eat alot of fish!! Fish has alot of Omega 3 in them and so does vitamin E, in which there both very good for your skin!!! And eat a very healthy diet... Good luck to you, hun! Smile, no one will trip on it, if you dont act like it bothers you, they wont.....Plus, alot of us women already know guys get them too, especially guys who work out!! So,its all apart of life, hun!! Smile!!!

Hi there,

If you catch stretch marks early enough, you can definitely fade them or eliminate them completely. It's best to treat them within the year (or sooner). Stretch marks are also easier to get rid of if they are pink in color, rather than white or faded.

During a consultation at a laser clinic or medspa, they should be able to tell you exactly what you can expect from treatments, and more importantly, how many treatments you can anticipate having. There is no one-time-treatment for stretch mark removal. You can try topical treatments but generally, they soften the skin and help reduce the appearance of ridges (if they're that deep).

The best treatments that I have found is either laser treatment or a combination of microdermabrasion and topical treatments. The mircoderm gently buffs away the marks and smooths the skin. The topical treatment will prevent them from coming back.

I would wait until you're at the size you feel comfortable at (if you're not there already) and pursue treatment. In the meantime, I would definitely go to a clinic for a free consultation. Check out the link below to find a local provider. These are very reputable sites and service providers. All of them are ranked based on real consumer surveys so you can be sure you're getting a nuetral recommendation. Hope this helps!

Get rid of Stretch Marks?

Sorry but you can't get rid of stretch marks (except by cosmetic laser treatments) I would stop worrying as nearly all girls (and some boys) will get them as they 'fill out' Over time they will gradually fade. Once a stretchmark has already formed, no creams or lotions will be able to reduce their appearance. Numerous trials have been studied and no cream has been proven to work at making them disappear. It's just a matter of time... Keep on moisturising though to help prevent further ones from forming.

There are cocoa butter lotions out there to help with that but you can't just buy any old cream only a good one and it might cost a little more. Plus, they eventually turn white when they get filled in. There are also makeup you can buy from macys, or other high end stores and they are for men and women and they cover everything, spider veins, stretch marks, even tattoos! That runs about 22 a jar and lasts about 6 months.

To prevent new ones:

Moisturise your skin with any lotion to prevent new ones. I like Aveeno with Oatmeal because its mild. Stay out of the sauna and tanning booth as this will dry out your skin.

If you have small ones, vitamin E oil and time will fade them, but not get rid of them. I tried Cocoa butter and Emu oil. Don't waste your money.

I eventually got rid of my deep stretch marks after losing weight by dermabrasion and chemical peels. They are 90 percent gone. It took six treatments. I would have left them, but I didn't like them on my inner thighs. If I were you, I would just let time fade them. Everyone has them and they do fade pretty good.

Use a scrub, exfoileint. Then moisturize with a clear sesame oil (no acne). If you have a severe stretch "row" try preparation H on that spot for about month and maybe that will help.

Well, there are certain products for women that help stretch marks from pregnacy. I guess you could always try one of those. I believe Aveeno has a product out, I'm not sure what it's called. But I'm sure you could easily find it online.

Unfortunately, once you get stretch marks, they are with you forever - like a scar. They will fade slightly as you age but will never go away. Ask any woman who has ever given birth......
