Ok, i remember in Dec after I went to take my SAT. I was on the bus talking to my friend about marriege and kids. I had told her that I want to have kids after I'm married or not have any at all. This ignorant ghetto girl rudely butted into our converstion and she had said " why do you want to wait so long to have kids, you can start now and lie and tell the government that you baby's daddy won't give you support and you'll get welfare checks." I told her that was very dishonset of her and she could get in troubl eif the government found out.and she said " No my mom did the smae thing, she had kids when she was 13 and now she's 29 and shes on her 8th child, right now i'm on my 3rd." This mad me really mad when I was hearing this. This girl was about the same age as me 15 or 16 years old.

This is a common practice of people whom live in "the ghetto". I see it all the time, women having babies and living off of the system. And you were right for telling her that she could and will get into trouble with the IRS/Government for falsifying income reports with the state. Technically one person can stay on state or federal assistance as long as needed. But there are fail-safes to ensure that these people dont drain our resources. They are supposed to have 3 months to get their act togther, get a job, childcare and such. But for some women they stay pregnant until they are old enough to collect Social Secuity. Its a shame that people do this, we can only hope that young people will see that this is not an effictive way of life.

Unfortunately that is the attitude of many people on assistance. Teen girls think they can keep going and having babies to every guy that comes along. I needed to be on welfare when my kids were little but mine was totally different circumstances. These
girls think they can keep having baby after baby, but what happens when there is another stricter welfare reform or when the funds just totally run out.

You can stay on section 8 indefinitely, but when your kids are grown and moved you have to move to a one bedroom or pay for the extra rooms.

With welfare reform you can receive food stamps longer than you can receive cash assistance. Once your kids are all 18 they cut you off the medical assistance unless you have chronic health problems.

They called the late 60's early 70's the generation gap
They call my generation the Baby boomer generation
The 90's generation generation X
I call this generation growing up now the 'whozurdaddy' generation

A few years back when there was not a cap on the number of years someone could receive welfare, the average number of kids to a parent who did NOT receive welfare was something like 2.3, while the average number of kids with a parent who DID receive welfare was something like 2.5 or 2.6.

It was not typical for a woman on welfare to have the 8 kids that everyone loves to talk about.

With there now being a cap on the number of years - for a lifetime - that a parent can receive welfare, I hardly think the average number of kids has increased.

Also, before the cap: The average number of years that a parent received welfare was about three.

I'd say that they can get Section 8 until the cows come home!
These are nothing but ghetto rats breeding from dusk til dawn!
They have no respect for themsleves, or for anyone, period!
They are the boon of society, the plague. Like locusts, they devour all in their path, then move on to another green pasture.

Depends on the state. I believe most states are 5 years for welfare.

I think that many people out there take an easy ride on goverment funding which is our money (the working people). It needs to be regulated better and they need to give people a time limit or cut them off. People are lazy and irresponsible. What would they do if we all quit are jobs.

welfare has changed you can only get it for five years tops in your life. You can get food stamps and section 8 as long as you need it. But you have to work now to get them no more sitting around the house. You have to go to school get a job or activley look for work and go to their job training seminars. Yes it is dishonest what she does and imoral in my opinion. I think your dream is fine

I am so very tired of supporting kids that
I did not create. I am not the father of
these kids, why should I have to support them?
Many live a far-better lifestyle than my own children.
This is pissing me, and many other people off.

If you produce the kid, you support it.
Tell me why I should have to?

If you buy a car, am I responsible for filling
your car with gas?

Am I responsible for your decisions?

While there is now a limit on welfare, you can stay in section 8 housing for generations. Screw you, LBJ, and your Great Society programs!
