Well one side has to stand for the truth. Dems lie about the past and have no plan for the future.

Healthy discussion and difference of opinion is good for democracy. I know it seems crazy but the world has been crazy before and pulled out of it. Generally I find Democrats and Republicans can get along when both are willing to compromise. Unfortunately lately we have had stubborn asses on both sides that won't give an inch. Maybe with the balance made possible last November we will see more conciliation on both sides. We've begun to see a little so far but let's see how far each is willing to go.

Yes, and some people on this part of answers aren't helping. Sometimes I think people get all of their political information from their political parties' newsletters.

Congress is just as bad. When one party has a President in power, that party's members of Congress stand behind him no matter what (almost always). It's happening now, it happened last time. The time before. The time before...

I'm getting sick of it. We're being turned against each other. Sure, we're all entitled to our own views, but we are all yelling and insulting each other, screaming about how wrong the other half is.

We should all be lucky that we live in a country where we can have contradicting views. Saying that those who don't agree with you are un-American (I've seen these kind of questions before) goes against everything everybody who helped build this country stood for.

I think we need more voices in the political arena. I wouldn't even say it's far right vs far left any more. I think it is far right neo-con corporatists vs conservative corporatists (dems and gop). If we had the the far left in there we would have a communist party and we don't. We have to stop labeling the dems and gop as left and right because they are neither. They are corporatists. Both parties are funded and manipulated by the corporations. What we need is the Green party and the Libertarian party, the socialist party and the centrist party (whatever that is) to have a say in this government. We also need to get the corporate money and the military profiteering money out of our political parties.

It's the hard right with all the money telling the American people what is good for them. The Republican party has turned into a BIG BUSINESS money making machine. Until the American people realize this we the middle class are going to continue to get screwed.
There is also some hard lefts that have some "INTERESTING VIEWS" They might not be my views but I don't believe that they are screwing over the middle class workers.

The country is more divided that ever.........

man these are all devices to blind you. You can see it posted everywhere liberal/conservative dem/rep its all just to diffuse the political will of the country away from the 14 yr low vs the british sterling, and the sad manufacturing sector. Dont be fooled any longer. Honestly all the things everyone gets excited about dont ever really change... abortion unchanged over his entire term, gays unchanged. These are non issues I am not saying they arent something to think about but to post ad nauseum and when people in power havent done any changes whatsover. Its all the same but the poor are poorer and thats not my estimate; its the estimate other countries use when they decide to save dollars or euros. BTW there are alot of countries that save rather than deficit spend.

There is no definitive difference between the corrupted parties of US politics. its all big business and lobbists. the real American has no spokesman and the media creates opinions and sets the stage for discussion of issues. real problems have not and are not discussed or taken care of. we have a less than 40 per cent electorate voting and we are getting what they want us to have? until Americans get to the polls and a viable majority opinion is in place nothing will change?

Democrat or Republican it doesn’t matter they have no interest in whats good for America. They have their own agenda, mainly getting rich and screwing the American people. They have forgotten that they are supposed to represent their constituents. They should start listening to the people, which they are paid to do.

Yes and it makes me worried for our future, hacks on both sides of the aisle make intelligent discussion nearly impossible. The Ann Coulters and Michael Moore's of the world are tearing America apart

I think it's worse today than it ever was in past administrations. We have a very divisive president and had a very onesided congress who would not let dem bills out of committee and who held committee meetings without the dem members present and this is the first president who has refused to make dem. appts to his cabinet (except for one), and who makes divisive remarks like "you're either with us or against us".
