why do ppl spell their names with two letters. like lloyd and aaron

Good point--I never really thought about it before. I am like others--that is the way it is spelled. lol

Maybe someone had a stuttering problem--in writing as well as in speech. lol--Not really.

Using two letters at the beginning of a name helps in correct pronunciation. I think greater stress is laid on the repeated alphabets compared to when one letter is used.
In today's times, some numerologists suggest a change in names already given to people at birth, by repeating a letter (usually a vowel). This is supposed to bring good luck. Certain numbers are associated with letters of the alphabets and addition of another letter is thought to change ones fortune for the better.
