If you want total relaxation, beautiful beaches and crystal clear waters then go to the Maldives. I have never been anywhere quite as stunning, peaceful, safe and welcoming. Where else could you watch the sun set and dolphins swim past? The people are wonderful and leave you in peace. You don't get hassled on the beaches by touts like you do in many other places. There are wonderful restaurants and bars that have a great atmosphere once the sun goes down. We ate one night in an open air restaurant whilst watching crabs scuttling along the beach. Complete heaven.

New Zealand is a very safe country, was there for four months and not a spot of bother! It has a top 5 coastal drive on the west coast of the south island (bit rough for swimming though). The North Island sports the 90mile beach. It's the most relaxed country I've been to and the people are very freindly. Tauranga on the North Island is great for night life, there's a strip of pubs, clubs and restaurants along the harbour and a great atmosphere.
Sufers Paradise in Australia also has a wicked beach and as the name suggests is popular with surfers.
Hope this helps :)

I would personally recommend Lanzarote - particularly the Playa Blanca area if you want a relaxing holiday, though there is not as much to do as there is in places such as Puerto del Carmen and Costa Teguise. I have been twice before, once to Puerto del Carmen, and once to Playa Blanca, and have just booked another to just outside of Puerto del Carmen. Both are very different styles of holidays. I stayed in a holiday park that had it's own pool in Playa Blanca, which made it slightly more interesting, but still relaxing nonetheless (I would recommend this by the way - Sun Tropical - however, I was about 14 when I went, so it might be too English and touristy for what you want)

Hope you have a great time, wherever you decide to go!

Hi Deano, hi over there,
Well I don't really know where are you from, because you have plenty of nice places all over, some might be more convenient because of their distance to your location (country).
You have already several suggestions, mine will be entirely different from the ones above.
I suggest you Tunisia for a change, there are of course gorgeous beaches,it's very safe, a night life in the touristic resorts, plus many other options if you which to discover the culture of the land of Carthage, experience the desert &the lovely and peaceful oasis,or just take it easy and relax in your hotel ( thallasoterapy, fitness, etc...)
You may visit the following web site to have an idea about what you will expect for next holiday :

The best place I have ever been in Playa Blanca in Lanzarote. It is small enough to avoid the usual scrum of tourists, the beach is stunning, the food is beautiful, plenty of sunshine and lots of nice bars for relaxing in the evening.
We had a fantastic time there last year, and are going back this year.
I`d avoid the other resorts in Lanzarote tho as they are a bit over-run with lager louts!

south of spain, fueringerola ( google it!) it can be cheap enough off season, the sea is blue and very very clean, the beaches are sandy, plus most people speak english as it is touristy ( dont know if people generally think this is a good or bad thing for holidays!) also the flights arent too much and well, i love it!
lots to do in the evenings (restos, bars ,not very good clubs). kids like it too (beach)

Only one place. Australia, we have the best beaches in the world here. Did you know that the sand in Hawaii was shipped out from OZ? We have calm safe beaches and also world renouned surfing beaches. The night life is good too, reasonably safe, by todays standards.

Greece anytime! Fantastic place! Try one of the islands - there are enough to choose from and they're not all full of drunken teenagers! (Although I have been there, done that and got the emotional scars to prove it!! Hehe!) On most islands there's usually a party end and a quiet end but there are also islands that don't have any sort of drunken revelry going on! I think Santorini may be one but get some brochures from the travel agents!! Happy Holidays!! =)

Costa Rica especially puerto viejo Loved the people, very reasonably priced. stayed at Kaya's place where you can walk into town, hang out at the bar or cross the road to swim in the Caribbean on black sanded beaches.
