Then complain in private about the high taxes, extremely long wait periods at the emergency room for serious injuries, massive amounts of red tape, and lack of choices when it comes to their health care? What is the real story about this program and why are these people so obsessed with America's health care system? If they are in medical paradise, why worry about what the US is doing?

I couldn't agree with you more. Besides, their socialist policies will implode as soon as their population drops sufficiently. Oh, did I mention that having the government involved in most programs leads to mediocrity at best?

have you met every Canadian or European? well ,you haven't met me ! Did you see not too long ago the story in a western state where a person had to wait for 28 hours to receive emergency medical care in an emergency room ? did you know about the cancer patients who are being turned away for a bone marrow trans plants and a person needing a kidney transplant being turned away because HMO'S are denying them that simple right.

millions of people even children are being denied that very right to health care and turned away at the door.

and then there is the fact that many are paying taxes out of their nose here as well , but the rich are not! those who are paying complain all the time that they pay way to much!

two states on the east coast started universal health care systems!

so I am European I live in the US , I pay a lot of taxes and I am a health care provider!
no matter where you go there will be complaints and no system is perfect , but every person on this earth has the right to health care without bureaucracy to kill them!

Since I don't know any Canadians or Europeans, I am not really qualified to answer. But I could make a couple of observations about our current health care system. We do have two forms of government-provided health care in this country: The VA system for veterans and the Medicare system for seniors. Then there is medicaid, for the destitute. Why not make medicare available to everyone regardless of age or income? Expensive? Maybe but, keep in mind we would be providing care to a younger and healthier population than the current population served by Medicare. So the increase in expenditure would not be as great as some would claim.

If you look at all of the states that border Canada and then the proportion of doctors offices that are located closer to the border; you will notice that there are more offices near the border than on the southern side of the states. This is because Canadians eventually get too tired of waiting or simply can't wait any longer and they will come down here and PAY to get it taken care of NOW!

So much for universal healthcare.

Actually, I know quite a few Canadians and have *never* heard them say that they love their universal health care - for exactly the reasons you've described.

I have a chronic health condition and it took me over FIFTEEN YEARS to get a diagnosis. Imagine how much longer that would have taken if the damned government was involved.

Well, we could have universal health care in the US, too...if we could find some other country to protect us with ITS military, so that we could spend our tax revenues on healthcare instead of on defense!

Ever notice how Canadians, in particular, will brag about their universal healthcare, but they end up working in the States, because the socialistic taxation strategy of THEIR country doesn't create the job growth it needs to keep Canadians in Canada???

I think we should do the same here. Yeah you have to wait, but at least you'd have health care. Look at the number of Americans who can't afford it because the HMO's and Insurance companies make it so expensive. They shouldn't complain at all. If they like our system, they are welcome to it.

Who said Canadians are worried about your non existent health care system....

All systems including health care systems have flaws...that's just the way it is...

Just remember that, In Canada and other countries which have free medical care....When someone gets a serious illness...that we don't have to sell our houses to pay the doctors....

It seems to me the one who is worried about someone's health care system is you, otherwise you would not have posted such a question.

Lastly.....AND THIS IS A FACT...THAT IS WHY MOST OF US NOW HAVE PHOTO HEALTH CARD...MANY AMERICANS WHOM HAVE FRIENDS AND OR FAMILY LIVING IN ONTARIO......WOULD COME UP HERE AND USE THEIR FAMILY'S CARD TO GET OUR HEALTH CARE....TALK ABOUT PEOPLE WHO ARE TAKING OUT BUT NOT PUTTING IN....
