I heard that if I could prove my own car insurance, then I could do that? Is that true?
Or is there any company that don't have such age restriction?

I have my own car and insurance in California. But I am traveling to Chicago and really need a car. I am 20 years old.

Thanks.

No, car rental companies won't rent to you. If you're visiting someone in Chicago that is older, they could rent the car for you, but you wouldn't be allowed to drive it legally.

I don't think they actually run your dl in order to rent a car. I've rented them a few times, including one-way truck rentals. They're more worried about you having a credit card and valid dl.

Enterprise. They won't charge you extra for being under 25 like Hertz will.

Great company to do buisness with. I have rented from them before

very doubtful. You must be at least 21, and have a major credit card to rent a car. Even if you are 21, it's very pricey to rent one.
