Moderate leftists (usually democrat associated) tend to understand economics better than moderate right wingers (usually republican associated), that is until you come across the extremists. (Minus the minimum wage issue, that is.) Even look at the deficit somehow grow when republicans are in office.

Take a good look at the earliest Republics before you accuse Democrats, in our time, of not wanting prosperity.
If you take a good look at what steps Coolidge and Hoover made, towards improving prosperity for Republicans, causing the Great Depression to worsen. In July 1932, Hoover insured that the Democrats were to win in November. Hoover and Congress' actions, or lack of, darned near caused this country to become a dictatorship. It eventually took FDR and the Democrats to bring prosperity to those Republicans.
Getting back the the earliest Republics, you will find that they were built on conquest and the backs of slaves. That is the Republican idea of social services.
There is a very large gulf between projecting power and demonstrating power

Same reason there are Muslims on Wall Street even though Islam forbids interest, which anyone in finance knows makes no economic sense. Politics isn't all political philosophy - your family and your family connections have alignments. If your whole family went to Holy Cross you don't go to BC, if your whole family are Democrats and they have connections that can help you you don't switch over - - people know which side of their bread is buttered.

Besides, you can't slice it Republican/Democrat. Clinton's economic policies were far to the right of Nixon's. Nixon implemented wage and price controls and declared himself and his cabinet Keynesians!

The economic policy paradigm really shifted with Reagan and the results speak for themselves.

Limousine liberals base their politics on social issues and not Economics.

The last time the country allowed Democrats to run rampant on the economy we had a statistic called the misery index. Proof positive their policies don't work.

Wall Street is predominantly in favor of Republican Economic principles. Lower taxes and free markets work. It is a proven fact. The bible on the street is the WSJ and that is not at all liberal.

You can try all you want but Bush did not hurt the US economy. He fixed it. Full employment and record highs on the indices prove his policies are working.

If you want to see the success of liberal economic policies, just take a look at the two bastions of liberal politics, California and New York. Is it a coincidence that it costs more to live in these two states than anywhere else in the country? I wonder if the states with the highest poverty rates are red or blue states.

Because Democrats are just as greedy and good at making money as Republicans.

People like to make money, didn't you know that?

I bet Democrats don't mind making billions. You think they would?
