They are the same color. Download and cut and paste and you will see. I couldn't believe my eyes the first time I saw it.

I gotta say, Barkley Hound, that the optical illusion is truly amazing! It's certainly up there with the best. I did as you said and checked it with an image program. They are indeed the same colour. Amazing!

fun image this technique is acutally very usefull when it comes to creating art. it's really hard to bang into someone's head that something only looks light when it's next to something dark or vice versa - this is an awsome picture to show thoes people who have trouble getting tha concept.
