Since you have no optical drive in this computer, I would suggest resolving the issue instead of just formatting. First, reboot the computer while tapping on the F8 key, and boot into [Safe Mode]. Log in like normal, and once the desktop is loaded, click on [Start] [Run] and type in 'msconfig' then click [OK]. This will get you into a place where you can modify your startup items/services. Now, click on the [Services] tab and check the box that says "Hide all Microsoft services". Now, uncheck everything that is not your anti-virus, then click on the [Startup] tab, and uncheck everything here that is not your anti-virus. Once you have everything unchecked/checked appropriately, click on [Apply] and then [Close], and then [Restart]. Let the computer boot up like normal. Once you're into Windows and see the window that is titled "System Configuration Utility", put a check-mark in the box that says "Don't show this again or launch the System Configuration Utility" and then click on [OK]. Now your system should run faster, and allow you enough access to get into it and clean all the crap outta it (spyware/virus), and get it up and running properly. If this doesn't work, THEN contact your computer manufacturer.

You probably have a couple of rogue programs. Download AdAware from lavasoft.com and also Spybot Search & Destroy. You could also limit the task that run by your colck, these take up a lot of memory. You should try to contact your pc's manufacturer and se if your memory is upgradable and if so, do it. The older the pc the more memory it will need to keep up. There is also a chance that your pc is just too old and time to replace it is here.

you need to find the windows XP or operating system software that canme with your computer. Insert this CD into your drive, and reboot. When you turn on the computer, keep punching F8. This should bring you to a menu that you can follow to reformat the hard drive. follow from there

From the model #, it looks like it could be a Sony Notebook. Go to their website and search under Support for your answer
