my scar on my leg still hurts after 2 years!?

well...on my year 7 camp ages ago...well...lets just say i picked a fight with a bunk bed and lost and got a huuge split in my leg and i have a scar for life...but after 2 years it is still hurting a bit when i knock it of bump it...is this normal and if so has anyone had something similar and how long has it taken to heal back to normal sensetivity?

You may have developed some scar tissue underneath the scar. I suggest taking some moisturizing and massage the area. I know it will hurt, but you may have to break up scar tissue. Once you do (it will take more than one massage session), it may feel better.

If you are going to your doctor anytime soon, ask them to check it for you. There's always a chance it may be something more serious (though I don't know what it might be).

My mother has scars from her youth. They are fine most of the time, but sometimes they get very tender and raise up a bit. Usually it's when she's getting sick or coming down with something.

As for myself, My thyroid is very off right now. Your thyroid controls a lot of things in your body. I have been healing slowly as a result. It's gone on for a long time. I'm finally getting on the medication I need and I notice that things are improving. I have a scar on my leg from a nasty cut that is still sore after a year, but it will be interesting to see if once I'm on the right dose, that will go away too. I've heard it can be a side effect of being hypothyroid.

I think we all have different normals. You could ask your doctor the next time you see him to look at the scar and give his opinion. I don't know if that helps or not. Best wishes!

My legs been burned in a fire and that left a scar. It actually took about 4 or 5 years for it to stop hurting as much.. but it will still sting every once in a while. Ive had it for about 7 years now
