The biggest number that has a standard name is a googolplex, a one with a googol zeros after it. A googol (yes spelt googol not google as someone said earlier) is a one with 100 zeros after it.

googol = 1x10¹ºº
googolplex = 1x 10^googol

Hope this helps!
:-)

There does not exist "the biggest number in the world." However, the term 'infinity' is often used in math. What it basically does is symbolize a string of numbers that continues on without end. Unfortunately, there are multiple infinities (we are getting away from math and into philosophy and computer science here), and some are larger than others (I can already imagine how many people are going to say this is absurd...but it is proven).
The biggest of all infinities is termed 'omega.' It is often defined as the set that contains all sets other than itself. Omega includes numerous infinities.
People that disagree need only look at Galileo's arguments for infinity (and the disproofs of his arguments), Cantor's diagonal argument and, most importantly, the work of Kurt Godel (there should be an umlaut over that 'o').
Hopefully you will follow up this research and try to comprehend how there can be multiple infinities.

You idiots... (not all of you I hope, I didn't bother reading all the answers of "infinity! oh, I'm sooooo smart!!!"

There is no "biggest number in the world"

Numbers never stop.

Why just the biggest one in the world? Do you really think that Earth has any significance that emphasizes the magnitude of what you are describing?

Infinity

There isn't one, because you could always continue with the "biggest number in the world +1", which would give you a new biggest number, etc., etc., etc.

I believe its a "googleplex" but even that number is precisely as far from infinity as is the number 1. There is no such thing as the "biggest number".

A googolplex. It is a number with a googol of zeros after a 1. A googol = 10 to the 100th power.

There isn't a biggest number. Contrary to popular belief, infinity isn't a number.

Well, if you literally mean "in the world," I would estimate that there are 10^60 electrons on earth. I doubt you would need to get any higher in counting than that.
