You can buy the 1977 film version, starring Peter Firth in the part that Daniel Radcliffe will play this year, at www.amazon.com for $14.99 or less.

As for the current version with Daniel Radcliffe, I seriously doubt the play will be filmed and released on DVD. If it ever does go to DVD, I'm sure it would be a remake done as a film with real horses like the 1977 film was done. And I'm reasonably sure that wouldn't happen until after July of this year when Daniel turns 18 because, even though he is of legal age at 17 in the UK, it would not be deemed appropriate for release in many other countries if it were made while he is that age.

It won't help with seeing the play, of course, but there are some gorgeous publicity photos on the play's official site. Go to www.equustheplay.com.

If you're looking for a film version with Daniel Radcliffe, you're probably out of luck. To my knowledge, West End plays don't get taped for public sale.

It was made into a film in 1977 with Richard Burton as the psychiatrist. I saw the film and I also saw the play, back then in the 70's. I also read the script.

Didn't the film star Richard Burton? Or am I getting confused?

Well... i bet at least some form of his nude body will make it onto the internet, don't worry. It may be completely shaky and blurry, but hey, it's better than nothing. =]

As for the entire play... probably not. At least not for sale.
