Seems to me this had to be a slip up of the tongue, and to avoid seeming like a weak leader he stuck by it.What kind of human being, whether Iranian or otherwise, would even say such a thing. The reason i ask is far from defending Bush's horrible policy, but seriously, given Bush's track record, what did the Iranian leader think would happen. I feel Bush is a "cowboy" and went after Sadaam for revenge for his father. Yes Sadaam was a bad man, but i think it was more like a personal street fight in Bush's mind. I was against the hanging, and all for releasing him because we didnt find WMD. Iraq is such a mess right now, maybe he was the only one that could have fixed it. So, knowing this, the Iranian leader goes and says the Israel thing. Personally, whether right or wrong in his thinking, if Bush wants you gone, um its bye bye. So we will probably end up sending more of our children away to prove Bush's point, whatever that is.Personally, I thought Bush and Sadaam shoulda duked it out.

As somebody that never supported the Iraq war, and voted against George W. Bush twice I can say that Iran's comments about Israel DEFINATELY need to be taken seriously. This Ahmadinejad fellow is just plain idiotic (the Pat Robertson comparison was very acurate) - the problem is that this idiot is in charge of an entire country. As far as middle eastern countries go, Iran is a very powerful nation. In a military conflict I believe Israel would be able to defeat Iran (plus the USA would almost surely come to Israel's aid) - but I don't want to see another war in the region. Ahmadinejad needs to be isolated and marginalized for the sake of world peace and the stability of the middle east (which is already hanging by a frayed thread).

Ahmadinejad is no smarter than President Bush, and if Bush were making comments like "Iran should be wiped off the map" - the entire world would be worried about his sanity. That's not the sort of thing that just "slips out" accidentally. Ahmadinejad is pandering to the islamic extremests that are really in charge of Iran. We have to take these theocratic lunatics seriously, and do what we can to take away their power. Honestly, if these religious extremests insist on pursuing nuclear weapons - military action may be our only option.

I know this puts me out of step with most liberals/Democrats - but I can assure you I am both a liberal and a Democrat. I just feel we need to defend the only true democracy in the entire middle east against a country run by ultra-conservative theocrats. Belligerent world leaders like Ahmadinejad are not good for anyone, and when they threaten violence we must take them seriously. To ignore comments like his is a HUGE mistake.

EDIT:
Both the people claiming that Ahmadinejad has never said he wants "Israel wiped off the map" are arguing semantics. His exact words (and he has said belligerent things about Israel MANY times, not just in one speech) are not important. The fact is - he has promoted the idea of war against the state of Israel. If you think that is a good thing then say so - but if you are a rational person that doesn't believe in pointless wars, then you need to use your brain and realize that Ahmadinejad is a lunatic.

adequate i assume you'll were taking section in too a lot call of criminal responsibility... at first, China & Russia are not North Korea's allies, they hate North Korea. China & Russia are interior the United countries with The U.S. If North Korea declares war on the U. S., then... good, see you later North Korea. If Iran attacks Israel, which may be by some distance the stupidest element that they had do, may be defeated by using Israel. Israel is by using a techniques absolutely the utmost functional middle jap united states of america right this moment, and ought to defeat Iran by using U.N. help. by the fashion, Iran would not attack Israel, Iran knows it will be defeated. in the adventure that they wanted to attack Israel, that they had have finished it. Iran merely argues about what Israel does. So in truth, if N.ok. tries to attack South Korea, then the U.N. ought to invade North Korea and draw close it. North Korea might want to no longer have any help from any united states of america, mainly now no longer Russia or China. China hates North Korea. Iran would not do something both. do not recommend those type of issues that both out of three effortless powers (China and Russia) ought to workforce up with this way of disgusting united states of america (NK).

A "slip of the tongue"?!?!? Are you kidding me? The Iranian president has made this statement MANY times. He recently hosted a conference for people disputing the Holocaust. Why is it so hard to believe that there are evil people in the world who want to kill us and our allies? Have you never opened a history book? If you think that no human being would say such a thing, then you are being incredibly naive.

I'm a funny man who can't be taken seriously..heheheheh. Oh, why are my fingers crossed behind my back? That means nothing..I would never lie! heheheheh.

Osama Bib Laden didn't bomb the World Trade Center on his own, he had the financial backing of the Islamic Fascists and personnel mostly out of Saudi Arabia. Sunnis and Sheits kill each other over ancient political beliefs and the Sheits are killing each other for power. All the Democrates hate Bush because they lost their power. France, Germany and Russia won't help in Irag or Iran because they know the fight is diminishing the power of the U.S.
When are you and others going to get it? It wasn't a slip of the tongue, Iran would like to see Isreal blown off the face of the map and see the total destruction of America.

Israel should have already bombed Iran several times. If it was a slip of Amadhenjihad's tongue he has put his tongue on instant replay several times, and since the koran tells muslims to kill all Jews, we should take a muslim serious when he says he intends to do what the koran tells him he must do.
As for you saying Saddam and Bush should have "duked it out", this shows your immaturity.
As for WMD, google these words: Iraq chemical weapons factory. You will see that we have found enough WMD in Iraq to kill over a million people and most of the media has lied because their hatred for Bush is more important to them than the truth.

Sorry, if Bush and Saddam would have duked it out, Bush would have gone running home to momma with a bloody nose. Bush is a "smirky, bad-*** want-to-be" - Saddam was the real thing.

I wouldn't worry about Israel...They have a long history of listening to the Arabs talk trash and then deliver a bloody nose to them. Trust me...if the WMD goes off in Israel, every Persian will be killed on the Jewish reprisal. Welcome back to the Cold War.

Imam (Khomeini) ghoft (said) een (this) rezhim-e (regime) ishghalgar-e (occupying) qods (Jerusalem) bayad (must) az safheh-ye ruzgar (from page of time) mahv shavad (vanish from).

Israel is a farce. It is proof that you become what you hate. The Zionist Jews sadly have gone from being the oppressed to being the oppressors.
