Are you in the UK? If so ignore the majority of answers on here. Companies in the UK are required by law to give statutory holidays to ANY employee full or part time so ignore those who say it is up to the company etc.....The working time directive was legislation introduced a few years ago to ensure employers could not abuse holiday entitlements. Any employer must give four working weeks holiday to any employee. If you work five days a week this would be 20 days per year. You say you work 16 hours - how many days is this over? Holidays are worked out as days not hours. If you work two days a week you are entitled to eight days a year, three days a week would be twelve days a year and so on - good luck

If you are working in the U.S. there is no law in any state that requires an employer to pay you for vacation. No matter how many hours a week that you work. Vacation pay is a benefit that employers may pay or may not pay. The only required time off is for meal breaks when you work a certain number of hours in a day.

Entitlement? anyone using that word should be shot. Why would you be entitled to anything for working 2 days per week? This is less than part time (30 hours per week). People who put in part time hours don't usually get any kind of benefits.

In the US it really depend on your company. Some companies don't give part-timers paid time off (PTO), some will only give you PTO for the hours you are missing if you're normally scheduled to work the day the holiday falls on. Contact your HR department.

Sorry sweetcheeks...there is no "holiday entitlement" even if you work 60 hours a week!!!

It's completely, entirely, exclusively up to the company you work for.

If they want to, they could work you all year WITHOUT holidays, as long as they meet all the other requirements such as overtime pay and the like.

If you're only working 16 hours a week, I don't think you're entitled to any benefits of any kind.

Typically someone who works so few hours does not get any kind of holiday, sick leave, vacation pay. Period.
