i injured myself and was taken off work for approx 5 weeks. Dr. gave me a "return to work" letter to go back to work. He now does not want to release "disability" check because he says i need to see him again to release me so i can continue to work. What can i do to get paid for that period of time?

I would call your insurance people you get your medical through and explain the situation to them..... And ask them who do you make a complaint too. Also, alot of these doctor's are told to try there hardest not to allow anyone to get disability. There's so many "Frauds" out there, who have ruined it for people like us, who really need it !!! Sad, but true! I had to appeal mine, but I got a letter within a month or two stating a check was going in the mail, once I signed certain papers!! So, sometimes it just depends on the the situation...... Okay your's obviously is through your job.....because I just reread your question. So, if I were you, I would call in work, and tell them you are unable, to work...but still go see him, so you can receive your backpay....My disability is a whole different kind.....I was hit by a car, and was almost killed.. And my work History, barely made the Disability time frame amount incrament.....So, I ended-up having to get the Social Security Disability. But, believe me, I'm still effected by the accident....I have alot of arthritis in my body from where all of my limbs were broken, and "Short-Term" memory loss.... And now other various health problems, but I'm still trying to get my degree, to eventually go back to work.....because I've been hearing through the "Grapevine" that eventually they are going to do away with disability, all together! Because of the "Trillions" of dollars in debt our country is!! So, just in case, I want to have something to fall back on, when that time comes, you know... Anyway, Good Luck to you.......I hope you get this all straightened out, even with your back-pay.....Smile, it'll all work itself out, one way or another! You'll see.

If you have a complaint about a doctor, contact your state medical board.
