I love your type of question -- one that requires some thought in order to answer! In actuality, I must say that I believe the present is the best time to be living as conditions were deplorable throughout the past: no central heating, no vaccines or reliable medicine, inhumane methods of execution, abject poverty, women and infants dying in childbirth... Having said that, I am going to qualify my answer by saying that, deciding to travel into the past, I shall choose to be a member of royalty or, at the very least, a lady-in-waiting to the Queen or a Duchess. Then, I shall select the early reign of King Charles II of England, shortly after the monarchy was restored. He was known as the "Merry Monarch", and his court was a free-wheeling, anything goes endless party. He was reasonably compassionate and executed only those who were directly responsible for deposing and beheading his father. King Charles had many mistresses (not that I would necessarily have wished to be one!) and illegitimate children but no heirs so that following his reign were years of chaos, but the era of his rule would have been, superficially anyway, a period of frivolity and fun...

I would go back to 1982, when I was a Freshman in high school. I would work my but off to create a surplus of money and invest it in cd's, instead of spending every cent I had on clothes and music etc. I would take all the advance classes and apply myself to make sure I aced everything, instead of watching so much tv and drawing. Then I would go to school for Architecture instead of nutrition.

man....good question!
I want to know EVERYTHING, so i'd like to see:
Who shot JFK?
Did anyone survive the Czar Nicholas shootings in 1917?
What killed the dinosaurs 65 million years ago?
What happened over Tunguska in 1908?
I already know what happened (mostly) in my own life. I would like to see if any of the girls I broke up with were heartbroken though....lol

Early 1900s, because it would be cool to see how society developed from that stand. That's when most of the drug laws were issued.
