When I'm wide up I can hit layups with ease, yet whenever I drive in in a game of 21 I always miss because I seem to go too fast. I normally fingerroll. If I slow down I could possibly get blocked. I normally end up missing because I get fouled. How can I improve my layup %? I practice layups every day but i don't see an improvement.

just practicing lay-ups propably won't help a whole lot. the key to scoring inside on drives, especially against bigger players, is to learn to initiate contact as you go up, and finish the shot. most players have a tendency to avoid bigger players because they are afraid of getting their shot blocked. But this does not work. Practice going into the defender as you shoot. this will get them off-balance and make it harder for them to block you, plus you will draw more fouls, plus you will be going TO the basket with strength, enabling you to make more
good luck

Get a friend and practice guarded layups. It may seem hard, but i worked with a friend on guarded shots for 2 hours 1 day and now I can shoot with a guy in my face almost as well as if I'm unguarded.

In traffic, a two-foot jump can improve your layup success. You will see that a lot in the NBA.

learn some inside moves
like run fullspeed and stop rite before your layup, pivot a 360 and pop it
or you could develop a hook shot or just perfect your free throws and hope you get fouled

You MUST take them two steps. Those two steps can make the biggest difference in the world. Make sure that you tuck the ball in next to your hip or anywhere on the side of your body on the opposite side of the hoop. That way it's harder for them to steal and block. When you approach that second step, put that ball up there and MAKE that ball go in.
