Sure ive seen all of the things people have been saying and ive read many things about it. By the way im 14. But what really bothers me is that the "virus" is smaller than a condoms hole. And i have read lots of documents about an American scientist making the so called "virus". And i also ask that you leave a source when you answer this question because sometimes when people say things they aren't always heard and also the TV is censored and covers alot of things that would be "dangerous" or would cause commotion in the American public.

Yes, it is real! I've seen people die from it (it's not a pretty sight) (I'm 48). You can get it from having unprotected sex.

You wanted a reference. Here is the American Medical Association's web site on AIDS information for doctors (and the public). I think that is a better source than wikipedia, or some other encyclopedia web-site.

As far as scientists creating the virus -- I think that's just looney conspiracy theory. If only scientists can create viruses and infectious diseases, then how do you explain the various plagues in the middle ages, or the influenza virus epidemic of 1918 -- when "scientists" didn't have any equipment to create viruses or bacterium.

Firstly, condoms do not have holes. Otherwise they would not be very effective at preventing any other STDs or unwanted pregnancy.

Also, don't believe everything you read on the Internet. There are plenty of conspiracy theorists and general nutcases out there that are perfectly willing to post all sorts of "scientific documents" presumably "proving" that we are under the influence of alien mind control rays or any other number of wacko claims. That is why real scientists take a methodical approach, publish their work in peer reviewed journals, have other scientists independently repeat their findings, etc...

The mainstream scientific community says that AIDS is real. I certainly believe them more than I believe some fringe wacko claiming it's not.

--- Edit ---

This should get you started.

BTW, regarding condoms, here is a quote from the above link.

"Use only latex condoms (or dental dams). Lambskin products provide little protection against HIV."

So... if by holes you are talking about the permabile structure of a lambskin condom, then yes, you can transmit aids even when wearing a non-latex condom.

AIDS is very real. Because you're only 14, you wouldn't be aware of where that so-called "scientist" is really coming from.

In the early 1980s when AIDS emerged, a lot of religious fundamentalists tried to claim that it was a "judgement from God" because most of the early victims happened to be gay. This riligious bigotry led some of them to invent a lot of false information and "conspiracy theories." You would be much better off spending your time studying real science instead of wasting time on these fakes.

Of course they say they"ve been "censored"--but that's not the case. They simply don't want to admit they are bigots and liars.

Yep its real.
Here is a really good book about the start of it all. The scandals the cover ups to try and keep it out of the media.
"And the Band Played On: Politics, People, and the AIDS Epidemic"

The link is to Amazon which gives a synopsis of the book. Theres a movie too but like all other titles the book is better and gives more in depth info.

I wish I could say no, but AIDS is real.
I don't understand why people question it in the first place - but I guess I have a bit of a biased point of view since I spent a year working in South Africa teaching AIDS education.
AIDS is caused by HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) you can't get AIDS by having sex, but you can get HIV. Just like you don't pass AIDS onto your children, only HIV. HIV results in AIDS when your immune system is broken down. There isn't a cure.
I wish it weren't real! But around five and a half million people in S.Africa are living with HIV and almost 1,000 AIDS deaths occurr in the country every day.

AIDS is real. The virus was created by pharamceautical companies by accident.

Its well known. That when you get a vaccine that they are actually injecting you with a benign strain of a virus. Many scientist believe the HIV was created by companies using experimental vaccines. Some say Hepatitis B vaccines. Others say Polio, and I've heard experimental Flu Vaccines could have started it.

The chimpamnzee myth is a cover up.

I would type in aids and check out the article on aids research. I will say that I hope that they come with a cure soon because if it became an epidemic in the US then 78% of the US would be wiped out in a 10 month span.

Look kid. Don't buy into conspiracy theory B.S.
AIDS is real. And it's killing a lot of people.

Condoms are not 100% effective. So know your partner WELL.
And make sure you check dates on the package. Don't buy condoms with a layer of dust on the box.
