The two best examples of non-romantic love I can think of are the love you feel towards your family members and the love you feel towards your friends.

The kind of love you feel for someone who you do in fact love, but are not and do not want to be physically intimate with. This includes your mom, dad, siblings, best friends, etc.
Romantic love involves some aspect of physical intimacy - actual intimacy, or at least thoughts or possibilities of it. It includes boyfriends/girlfriends and spouses.
