I believe that opposites attrack very often because a person sees something in the other person that they lack. However it usually doesnt work very well in the long run, especially if the two people live together. If they are oppiste, they will more likely to be interested in different things in life, by that I mean different hobbies, past times, food, etc. Different religions are not good at all, because that has to do with the way people spend their holidays, raise their kids.... etc. Thats why if you are looking for a long term relationship you should concider somebody with a similar backgroud, so you can share everything and do everything together, so that there is understanding and similar goals in life.

Well that's a tricky question actually. I could say I married my opposite, because there are a lot of things that my husband and I are opposites about, but there are also a lot of things that we have in common. I'd say in a way that opposites always attract.

I would think often especially if the opposite is an unknown.
Some of us tend to be attracted to what we do not know.

I think it happend quite a bit...my husband and I were complete opposites when we meet...and we still are. I think it makes life that much better! He teaches me things and gets me interested in things that I never would have if it weren't for him! Maybe it should happen more often!

people get labeled "opposites" more often than they should. there is obviously part of their personalities that are similar. people are often given these labels when other people don't know the couple that well. usually it is the people who are too much alike who have trouble getting along. opposites usually can balance each other out, whereas those who are very alike have the same flaws.

I think it happens quite often. I know I married my opposite ten years ago. Loving it too! It's an opportunity to learn something.
