Is this a temporary injury or did the doctors say that your wrist will no longer be of use for you? Because if it is temporary, it is just temporary dude. Do not let yourself be miserable because you think you cannot do anything that you love anymore. The pain is misery enough for your soul. Don't be hard on yourself. For me, it seems like you have been working too hard. Way too hard. Well, you broke your wrist, right? (Sorry) If your school allows you to and if you can tolerate the pain, you can bring with you and use a laptop (if you have one, i mean i am sure your school will understand your sitch). If you don't have a laptop, you should buy one. If you have financial troubles to even buy a laptop, you have your books right, or you can always ask your professors to have their lectures photocopied. Some professors allows their students to do that. Especially in your situation. In regards with hockey, dude, have you ever heard of the Madden Curse? It has something to do with football players who were featured in the cover of a magazine and each one of them suffered great injuries. More painful than yours, actually. They needed to stop playing but most of them had a huge comeback. EMT,eh? Explain to them that you cannot do the job for now, let them know you have serious reasons. Dude, you have an emergency crisis to yourself, don't you think it would be ironic for you to be working as an Emergency Medical Technician? Don't push yourself to work because it would make your injury worse than it already is. If you do, you definitely won't be able to work anymore. Just, consider your injury as a chance for you to relax even for a little while, just until your wrist is feeling much better. In life, you will definitely be knocked out several times, but you must get up after every k.o. It feels way better than wallowing, self-pity. I believe you can get through this. Take care, God bless and pray. It helps you know, to pray even for a minute or two.

the good news is your wrists will heal and likely be functional again, so this is a short-term problem that will work out. It sounds like you are focusing on all of the negative aspects of your situation, which again, are only short term. Temporarily, I understand your pain, both emotinoally and physically. Also, people who experience physical pain that remains unresolved often end up feeling bad emotionally. Its hard to mentally endure physical pain, which often leads to irritability and a depressed mood. AS for school notes, take in a tape recorder or copy someone elses notes. Hockey, you will be able to play again unless your wrist does not properly heal. Can the EMT company wait for your wrist to heal and then take you back? Right now it is important that you take care of yourself, physically, which is just a matter of waiting for your injury to heal. Talking to a counselor may be of benefit to you, as well, to help you through this difficult period of time. If the pain is insurmountable then I suggest you talk to your doctor about a temporary script for anti-pain medications.

It'll heal! A fractured wrist is only temporary, as bad as it seems right now. If your job will let you take a medical leave of absence, that will work, or they might be able to place you on light duty or office work until your wrist heals. I know several medics who became injured at work, and the company I work for was pretty flexible in letting them take the time off needed to heal and they could still return to their jobs later.
As far as school goes, you might consider purchasing a tape recorder to tape lectures instead of writing notes, or you could get a friend to copy his notes for you. You can always type homework out on the computer. Typing might be fairly slow with just one hand, but it can be done. If you have a good friend or parent who's willing to write out your homework for you, then that would work, too.
Just hang in there, and things will get better soon :)

Friends' notes, tape record, does your college have "blackboard"? Talk to your professors, tell them what you told us.

get a tape recorder and record your notes, don't worry - in a couple of weeks you'll be as good as new.
