Long distance bus travel is rare in Germany. Rail travel is overwhelmingly the most favoured form of transport, whether travelling just a few miles (or kms), from one end of the country to the other, or internationally.
However, there are companies that offer long distance bus services in Germany. Eurolines is one, Berlin Linien Bus is another, and Gullivers is another.

I know there are cheap companies. In the Let's Go series of travel books they will be mentioned for sure. However, why not travel by train?Travel by rail is a lot faster and provides you with a bit more of moving space while traveling. In Europe, that is definitely the way to go.
Also, there are very cheap airlines within Europe (sometimes cheaper than bus or rail) check out www.whichbudget.com
Good luck!
