Just a word of advice: Take a lot of caution. Ghana is the source of a lot of online dating scams. It is my experience that people are not what they seem or who they tell you they are.
Nonetheless, he needs to go to the U.S. Embassy and apply for a visiting visa. The application process is about three weeks and costs about $800. This includes not only the visa application, but also passport, doctor's office, immunizations, etc. Expect $1500 for a flight on British Airways from Accra to the United States.
What may work better is if the two of you arrange to meet halfway, say in London. He meets you there and you both pay for your own travel before he comes to the States to meet you and marry you.
Again, take a lot of caution. People do not want to see the truth until it is too late. Ghana is a very poor country and there is a reason not many U.S. businesses INCLUDING AIRLINES do business with Ghana.
For your sake, be careful!

I'll suggest that you visit him in Ghana .Evaluate your relationship before you invite him over.Going to Ghana will cost no more than $4000 including all other personal expenses you will make. This could be lower depending on your budget.Go to Ghana to see him "with your two eyes" before you can invest in the relationship.I am a ghanaian and i know that most of people will swindle you.Ghana is like a everybody's home;Liberians,Nigerians,Ivorians,Gambians and other citizens from Africa and around the world. This person might be an imposter.Let your "eyes be your oracle" .

I agree with Pusherhombre, why don't you let him pay for all his paperwork and maybe yu could meet in the UK before going to USA. Don't go to Ghana on your own, please!!! And don't send him any money, you are forever reading about these women paying for men from Turkey, Ghana etc. to come and live with them and as soon as they have the green card, they up and leave that women with thousands of pounds/dollars debt. Be carefull.
