1. The LCD Odometer Connections are getting worn from vibration. You see it better cold, because as it warms up, it will pick up more electrical disturbances thru out the cars Elect. system between the Key switch, Alternator, Ignition, Lights and Instrument Cluster.A new Speedometer is easiest & cheapest in the long run.

2. Check other Motor Mount & Transmission Mount closely, not only for deteriation & cracks or tears, but also for spongyness from oil saturation. Helicoil usually works best with Cylindrical Loctite for long term repair, otherwise the Aluminum maybe to porus to hold in that certain area. I usually just weld up the hole & repair it myself. I'd get a remanufactured long block (with Head). You will get a Warranty, and the head is already torqued to Specs. by the manufacturer, thus eliminating possible error by the mechanic. $875 for the Long Block. $375 for the Labor. By The Blue Book it's $4800. A 2 Door Coupe Blue Books are approx. $6800, in Excellant Conditon. I'd put a quick fix on it and trade it in. Their are a few more options, to do but bacically it will be more than the car is worth.
Well, Good Luck On It!
