Try long hot baths with a good book. Use lavendar oil in the bath along with epsom salts. That will help with the muscle aches.

Get a massage if/when you can afford one. They work WONDERS!

As for ways to help relieve the actual stress... working out is one of the best (and easiest) ways. Yoga, walking, etc are great for calming down. If you're bottling up your stress/emotions, then try something more physical to get it out, like kickboxing. Release some of that aggression!

Hope that helps!

Eliminate the factors that contribute to the stress.

If you're having relationship problems, then be honest with yourself whether or not this person is helping to build a strong, lasting and trustful future with you.

If it's family, then we all must cut the cord. Be respectful to everyone, but don't participate in arguments or any other type of drama that would cause you to stress about it.

If it's your job, then research alternative employment.

If it's a serious health concern you have that is stressing you out, then allow the physicians to help heal you. Do your own research on your diagnosis. You are empowered when you have all of the facts.

Anti-stress/Anxiety Tea:
To 4 cups of boiling water add--
1 TBS Quick Oats
2 teabags of Hops
1 TBS Fennel seeds
2 teabags of Peppermint

Turn off the flame, cover completely, and let steep for 20 minutes. Strain with a metal strainer (or a knee-hi stocking), add 1TBS honey and let it cool enough to drink as hot as you can stand it.

I drank this tea during an active anxiety attack (severe chest pain, heart palpitations, tightness and pain in left shoulder and arm, dizziness, and shortness of breath). I started feeling better within 30 minutes.

Whatever is going on that is causing you so much stress, it must stop. Remember, you control what happens to you. Don't be a victim of a disease, a bad relationship, or of non-supportive family members.

Choose happiness and good health, always.

Biofeedback helps you relax and deal with your problems more effectively. YOu start by practicing on your own: sit down or lay down and concentrate on your body starting at the toes. Tell yourself to relax your toes, then do so, then tell yourself to relax your foot, and do so, then tell yourself to relax your lower legs and do so. Keep doing that in your head, and also relaxing each body part till you get to your head. Once you relaxed each body part then do something with your mind, make yourself say (outloud if you must) the ABC's backwards. Its not impossible, take as long as you need to, just do it. Or count backwards from 100, but only say every sixth number (ex: 100-6, 94-6, etc). The point is not if you are right, its to make you both relaxed and able to focus and concentrate at the same time. Your stress is a result of how you are handling problems, so biofeedback not only helps you relax, but also helps you strengthen your ability to focus and not be anxious as much when a stressful situation arises.

Later on when you think a stressful situation is coming upon you, you can start relaxing your body parts (you probably can even do it without having to say relax this..and relax that, it will come more natural). Just keep practing the biofeedback.

Other things you can do is try journaling...writing about your problems, lots of people feel better when they just get it out. Or they may see there situation better and make better decisions or find new opportunites.

You can also plan something fun and simple to do once a week: such as hanging out with a friend, dancing in your room, getting dressed up and going out somewhere, its up to you..what would make you a bit happy? Having something fun and simple to look foward to each week, can make it easier to handle the stressses during the week.

There is also just plane old meditation..laying down and not thinking about anything for 15 minutes..just clearning your mind..which can be done everyday.

Take walks for 15-30 minutes to clear the mind as well. The fitness will make you feel great, and the walk will help clear your mind, or find ways to help you with situations that trouble you. You may not be able to change some situations, but you can change how you deal with it and how you see it. (many writers go for walks when they have writers block, to get inspiration).

Good luck.

Gosh, you sound like you are really tense, that's why your muscles are acheing as you r probably tensing them. I'd suggest this simple tecnique of relaxation, lie down, take a few deep breaths, starting at your feet, tense & then relax your feet, then your calves & legs, & work this way up tp your face, tense up your face, frown & really pull in the muscles & then let go. This done regaularly will help you to be aware of when you are tensing & how to control it.
Deep breathing done every few hours is one of the best ways. Just take a deep breath into your belly as u counr to 4, hold for 4 & exhale for 4. This is really calming.
You need to to also slow down! you can do this by simply sitting comfortably, & concentrating on your breathing, if thoughts come into your head, just let them come & then observe them as you let them go. Really give yourself this time to simply BE & not doing anything else. tell your mind slowly & repeatedly , relax & it'll obey. so listening to calming music (New age ones for example, u can get them at HMV or other places) as you do this will also be good.
Also, Yoga is very good, if you do it reguraly you'll notice you are a much calmer person. There are classes in every area or u can get a DVD & practice at home.
Also, use this affirmation, I am calm & relaxed & repeat as often as u can.
lots of luvxx

Stress comes in many forms. If you are stressed out about your job GET ANOTHER ONE. Stress from ourselves and our own inability to accept ourselves as we are and not expect perfection is often the hardest to handle. When you start feeling stressed Stop whatever you are doing or thinking. Sit down close eyes, breath deeply. In nose out mouth. Do this for several minutes. Think about your favorite food . Imagine that you are eating it . or think about your favorite place, and imagine that you are there. Your passing out can be caused by stress but points to physical problems caused by it . You may be hypoglycemic' or your blood pressure may be going up . both these things are serious and you NEED to see a DR. Any time that you Pass out you need to be checked out.

Difficult to avoid a trip to the doctors, you need to ensure there are no physical causes for your problem. Even if there isn't he may well be able to help you.

If this is anxiety there are many non pharmacological- non pill - ways of helping you such as counselling, relaxation therapy or psychotherapy.

It sounds as if things are getting worse, if this is so it is not likely it will improve without outside help of some sort.
