THE XXXXXX THING WONT WORK please help we have dstuff to print off and thing wont print all i get is coloured lines in the middle of the paper i must be thick HELP HELP HELP

There are a number of possible causes for this. They are;
1) Poor ink cartridges or ink cartridge nozzles clogged.
You can clean print cartridges using the software on the computer. Just bring up the properties of the printer and you should have a tools option that allows you to perform cleaning options.
This could particularly be the case if the printer has not been used for a while.
2) Badly installed printer drivers
It could be that you have the wrong printer driver for the printer. If this is the case then you can download a new driver from the link below.
You need to do the following;
a) Download the driver
b) Unplug the printer
c) Uninstall the old printer driver
d) Install the new printer driver
e) Plug the printer back in.
Note: Make sure that when the printer is plugged in that it is set to be the default printer.
3) Faulty printer
If the printer is reasonably new and you think that the ink cartridges are okay then you should probably return it and get a replacement.
3) The program you are trying to print from is not printing correctly.
If the printer prints other things okay then it might be down to the program you are trying to print from. This is an unlikely cause and only mentioned for completeness.
