is red hair dominent?

Question

i have brown he has red we bothe have freckles what do you think?

im 32 weeks pregnant and having a boy so i wonder what my sons hair color will be just wondering could care less either way

Red hair is a recesive gene. It does not mean your son won't inherit it, just that it is less likely. Even if he comes out with one color hair that won't nescesaraly be his "permanent" hair color. All my girl were born with blond hair and the older they get the darker it gets.

brown hair is dominant, but it depends on how strong your genes are over his. My mom had red hair and my dad had really dark brown hair. My sister is blonde and I started out as a red head but mine turned darker into brown. It also depends on the rest of yours and his blood families as well. My sister's blonde hair came from our maternal grandmother. My maternal grandfather had really red hair which my mom got. Myself and a few of my cousins have brown hair with many red and blonde highlights. Now my son was born with light hair like mine was, nearly blonde then turning strawberry blonde, his is taking the same route mine did and his is now turning more to light brown. My husband has dark brown hair, so Gabe doesn't seem to have gotten anything from his daddy in the way of hair, he also has my dark brown eyes, hubby's are light brown almost hazel.

Depends on a lot of things
whether people in his family had red hair
then he will carry dna for red and brown hair
and the history of your families hair colour

brown would usually be dominent if it was really dark
but a lighter brown probably would contain red so you could get red haired children

I think brown hair is dominant. My dad has red hair and my mom has brown hair. All four of their children had brown hair. We all also got freckles from my dad. The odds of having a red head is one out of four.

Technically red hair is one of the "recessive" hair colors. However, the problem with hair and eyes is that it's not just one solid thing. It's multi-variable so it's a little iffy. My daughter's hair is white blond...like her father's was when he was little. Now his hair is almost black. I had brown hair when I was born but when I was a toddler it was light blonde and as I've gotten older it's gotten darker again. I think it's one of those things you have to just wait and see on.

Well I have brown and my husband is red well, a strawberry blond red ( more red then blond) we both have freckles and our daughter has a normal skin color ( like when I tan) she has strawberry blond hair and blue eyes( got from my husband)

Hard to tell. My husband has red hair, I have dark brown. My son was born with red hair and my daughter was born with brown.

red hair is double recessive....since your husband has red hair then he has both genes for it and will give it to your son....since you dont have red hair chances are you dont carry the gene, but if you do it would be the recessive gene and you have a 50 percent chance of passing it on. therefore you have a 50/50 chance of having a child with red hair...hope that helps

My friend (girl) had red hair, he had brown and their baby was born with red hair. My cousin's wife had red hair and he had blonde and the baby was born with red hair. My other cousin had red hair and his wife was blonde and their baby had red hair. Every couple I have ever known with one red head in it had a red haired baby....but that's just observation.....no idea if it's scientific!
