[(x - 8) / (x^2 - 4x + 4)] [ (3x^2 + 6x + 12) / (x^2 - 5x + 4) ]

The best thing to do is factor everything.

[ (x - 8) / [(x - 2)(x - 2)] ] [ 3(x^2 + 2x + 4) / [(x - 4)(x - 1)] ]

I'm guessing you made some sort of typo with 3x^2 + 6x + 12, because it doesn't factor nicely enough to simplify.
