We have children because they make our lives richer AND because we love them so much.
Incompatibilities between us and their behaviour make us unhappy, not the children themselves.

We are responsible for our own happiness, children only make us miserable if we expect more from them than they are able to give.

I'm a tired parent of a 9 month old, but I'm happier than I have ever been.

Having children is a biological imperative. Nature intended for the human race to survive so adults have children.

However, not everyone is cut out to be a parent. And, there's no instruction manual - you just make it up as you go along.

If you are miserable being a parent even though you love your children perhaps you should seek counseling or join a parent 's support group. Parenting is hard (I know, I have three children) and sometimes talking to someone can help.

Look and see if there is a Parent's Anonymous in your area.

Here's something else to consider if you are miserable being a parent. Children go through different stages of emotional development. As your children go through their emotional stages, if YOU have unresolved childhood issues, unhealed childhood pain, if your emotional needs were not met when you were a child, you will have a hard time parenting your own children. You need to take care of your own issues and that might make your parenting easier.

We have children because thats part of life. Im a young mother and got pregnant real young. And are you meaning children making you miserable like seriously or as a joke...cause my kids drive me crazy. But like ive said several times...they are truly my inspiration for everything i do. At the end of the day THEY are the only thing i can count on. (at least for now that they are young! lol)

The most miserable times for parents are when they forget that they are the mature partner in the parent-child relationship and behave like children themselves. Don't respond to a child's tantrum with a tantrum of your own, for instance. Keep things in perspective, be patient, and know that your own good behavior today will lead to your child's better behavior tomorrow.

Is it really what you feel? I'm a parent too, but its not what i feel when problem arise with regards to my child. I know all the incovenience in rearing a child but that 's what makes them special to us. You must take pride on it. It's just like saying you want a big house to live in but can't tke care of it. I suggest you gather all your child in a family room then make most of the time playing, talking to them i know its a bit stressfull but after that you will relieve& realize that they are here to make our life happy & complete.

we just get them without think how much responsibility that mean and by the time we notice they are already on 15 and up making our life real miserable.
i think the USA system make it worse than any other country.
don't worry after they are around 25 and up you will start filling the love and care from them then you going to see the result of all your sacrifice.
