Plueronic surfactant
Surfactant is a naturally produced detergent ,

In the human, it gives viscosity and elasticity = to lung tissue ,
allowing expansion of the alveoli , so increased oxygen absorbtion
Surfactant is absent, in some premature babies , causing breathing dificulties

Atrtificial surfactant , is now given to premature babies,
with a low level of surfactant .
To improve thier breathing capabilities .
