my car has a garret t15 turbo as standard, ive been told that any t2 series garret turbo (t20,t25,t28) will simply bolt up and replace the standard stock t15. is this true and if i say upgraded to a t20 would i need to do any other things to my engine so it runs right with new t20.

If you're looking to do this as a performance upgrade very important to get the fuelling checked at full power/peak revs as running lean would result in meltdown. Also Same applies to ignition timing. Best to get it professionally checked.

the garrett t2 series are basicly an upgrade of the t series turbos. with a cjange in vane profile, improved bearings and cooler running. a t25 should be ok but better to get it onto a rolling road and have the engine re-mapped. worth the cost as it may improve the performance more than just fitting a new turbo.
